Cusumano’s Pizza and Food Company – Keeping the Family Tradition Alive
At Cusumano’s Pizza and Food Company, we take pride in our rich Italian heritage and family traditions that have been passed down through generations. Our story began with Faro Cusumano, who emigrated from Sicily and started pushing a banana cart from north St. Louis to East St. Louis every day to make a living.
His son, Sam Cusumano, carried on the family’s passion for good food by making homemade pizzas in the basement of his house. Family gatherings were a feast, with Aunt Mary, Uncle Frank, Uncle Joe, and Sam’s son Alex joining in to make the beloved sauce and spedinis.
Now, Sam’s grandson Sam Cusumano is opening this new pizza parlor to keep the Cusumano name and traditions alive. Two of our signature pizzas are named after the most important people in his life – the Alexander and the Gloria, honoring his father and late mother, who he credits for his success.
